Explore the Andean nature through a horseback riding experience around Peribuela, a rural area known for its agricultural landscapes and remnants of Andean montane forest.
The activity begins with a transfer from Otavalo to the entrance of a nearby primary forest, where the experience starts. Before the ride, the local guide will provide a brief introduction on basic horse handling and safety guidelines to ensure a secure and enjoyable journey.
Participants will then enjoy a two-hour horseback ride along natural trails that pass through the primary forest, an ecosystem characterized by native vegetation, large trees, and a rich diversity of Andean flora. Along the route, riders can appreciate the natural surroundings, listen to the sounds of the forest, and observe the landscape from a unique perspective, creating a calm and authentic experience in direct contact with nature.
07:30 – Tour begins, pick-up from your hotel in Otavalo.
08:30 – Arrival at the forest area in Peribuela.
09:00 – Begin the guided horseback ride through the primary forest (approximately 2 hours).
11:00 – End of the horseback ride.
12:00 – 12:30 – Transfer back to your hotel in Otavalo.
