Experience an amazing mountain adventure in the northern Andes of Ecuador with a hike to the summit of Fuya Fuya Hill, located within the Mojanda lake complex. The tour begins with a scenic transfer from Otavalo to this high-altitude area, situated over 3,700 meters (12,140 ft) above sea level, surrounded by volcanic lakes and expansive Andean páramo landscapes.
Upon arrival, we will begin the ascent to the Fuya Fuya summit, which reaches approximately 4,263 meters (13,986 ft). Along the hike, we will traverse páramo trails characterized by native vegetation and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Mojanda lakes, nearby volcanoes, and the inter-Andean valley.
At the summit, participants will be rewarded with a 360-degree view of the Andean landscape, considered one of the most spectacular panoramas in the region.
07:30 – Tour begins, pick-up from your hotel in Otavalo.
08:15 – Arrival at the starting point of the hike in the Mojanda Lakes area.
08:15 – 08:30 – Preparation and introduction to the hiking activity.
08:30 – Begin the guided ascent to the summit of Fuya Fuya Hill.
10:30 – Approximate arrival at the summit, with rest and box lunch at a panoramic viewpoint.
11:00 – Begin the descent along the trail back to the starting point.
12:00 – End of the hike.
12:30 – Transfer back to your hotel in Otavalo.
